Day One Hundred Seventy Eight
We checked out a number of books as well as movies from the library yesterday and today we decided to watch some of them this afternoon. The favorite out of the batch was The Swan Princess III.
Spoiler: This movie could have been avoided being made had the prince destroyed the evil notes when he first found them years ago. But like in LOTR he thought he could use these powers for goods.
Honestly, just throw it into the fire.
Yes she is wearing the same clothes from yesterday. I'm still doing laundry.

Day One Hundred Seventy Seven
Received a number of emails about my selection of aperture. Most often I'm asked if I find it difficult keeping things in focus at such a shallow depth of field.
Keeping the subject in focus at that aperture isn't all that difficult once you become aware of where things fall in and out of focus. At ƒ/1.2 there's just enough wiggle room for you to do your thing. And when you're shooting self portraits at that aperture every millimeter counts.
I also tend to focus manually as well. While autofocus is awesome, sometime an eyeball is just to small of a target for the camera to figure out.
About the photo: Every time I turn aroud The Girl is always up to something.
Also season 4 of The IT Crowd just started and new season of Top Gear airs tomorrow.

Yes, I just bought this. No, I don’t have delusions of producing the next blockbuster with this.
Day One Hundred Seventy Five
A few of my friends have been up, outside various Apple stores, since 2AM to pick up their copy of the iPhone 4. They tell me that they enjoy standing in line at, especially the one in Palo Alto.
Maybe they enjoy all the clapping and high fives that they do there. For me, I'd rather go about my business and just have the phone shipped to me. A day freaking earlier.
Yes, the reception is bad when you hold it with your left hand (which I do) and I've scratched mines already :D )

Day One Hundred Seventy Four
Gonna go out for breakfast today. So while the girls are finishing up their juice I decided it would be best to make a photo now than sometime never.
@ OMG!! itsRyan: His stuff is always classic.
@ Sharon Linne Faulk: I couldn't get away with just one in this house.
@ *Focus: I try.
Day One Hundred Seventy Three
On Father's Day I asked the girls if they wanted to goto the dollar store. The Girl said only if I bought her something. And that was the point because well, it's only a buck.
So we get to the store and Mouse Girl true to fashion picks out a variety pack of cereal. Leaving The Girl to go up and down the aisle eventually settling on a battery operated tiara.
With a dollar and some change in each of their hands, they made their way to the cashier and that's when The Girl stopped in her tracks and saw these drink umbrellas and just had to have them. I explained that they weren't toys but toothpicks. Of course she could have cared less and came out of the store with these instead.
On the ride home she then began to notice that they would fall apart after she had opened and closed them a number of times. Towards the end of the day she lost interest in them as she turned her attention to Mouse Girl's packs of cereal. To which Mouse Girl exclaimed, "No Ate, this mine!
And thus the umbrellas makes for the subject of today's photo before I send them off to the recycling bin.

The Girl helps daddy update the phones to iOS 4. As for some reason I can't be trusted with these sort of things.
Yes I have the super duper rare MacBook without the glowing logo.

Me: What kind of face is that?
The Girl: Your face.

Day One Hundred Seventy
Today's photo is brought to you by Mouse Girl. Today The Girl wanted to make her own photos of her toys so I figured it would keep them busy for a while so I said, "Go for it."
While I sat on the sofa reading a magazine I noticed Mouse Girl giving out directions. I looked up and there she was behind the camera telling her older sister to smile.
And that's why today's photo is brought to you by Mouse Girl. This is the photo she made today… shot wide open no less.
And to those saying but it has to be a photo you made. Whateva, she's mah seed man so it's all association.

A friend of ours puts on a local farmers market every Thursday here in Las Vegas. I know what you're thinking, local farmers + Las Vegas? But it happens every Thursday.
At the market The Girl just had to have some baby squashes so she begged and pleaded. At least she was nice enough to pick me up some peaches and cherries from another friend of ours at the market who's orchard is just south of here.
Remember it's not about buying your products at some grocery store that sponsors a show on Bravo. It's about buying seasonal products from your local farmers.

After yesterday's journey I elected to just hang out around the house with the girls today. Bunch of playing tea party and marching band.

Interesting but long day today and after picking up the girls I just wanna crash.
Funny thing on the way back in, TSA pulled me aside to inspect my Domke. They said they couldn't tell if I had a lens in the bag or not. So they pulled out the 85 and looked through it to confirm it was indeed a lens. He then said, "Gosh that thing is a heavy little bastard." lulz.

Still working on pulling the data off this dead HDD. At least I was able to pull off all of Mouse Girl's Caillou shows.
@johngpt: Agreed. At the very least we can pinpoint the failure to the strawberry jam she tends to shove into everything. Good thing for weather sealed gear.

One of our iTunes hard drives started to fail earlier this week. So in preparation for the replacement drive, I've started migrating the data off that to another external drive. But of course it's locking up when you start moving files off it and sometimes it unmounts itself from the system.
You gotta wonder why I started this project on Sunday instead of earlier. And while every other drive is backed up in the house, this is on the only drive to go solo. D'OH!
Mouse Girl is making sure I save all her Caillou movies by monitoring my process via Screen Share.
Any recommendations on data recovery software?

The Girl pauses for a moment to give a quick look at the camera. After the shutter closes, she continues on with her reading.
Of course, we'll just disregard the fact that there are a few boom stands and lights hovering over her.

Wanting to emphasize the rehearsal look, we left the bags, cords and lights in the frame.
