Day Ninety
I am the milk, like the milk you drink. I don't care what you say or what you think. - I Don't Car : Audio Two
Man was it windy out today. It made day 90 a bit more challenging as the wind really started to kick up blowing stands around. Poor little OB, who came along for the shoot, decided it was better for him just to sit in the car. I think if he stayed outside the wind would have picked him up and landed him in Oz.
And yes, you seen this B6 before.

Day Eighty Eight
Worked the RM Seafood / Slow Food event tonight. Met some great people all around and even got a photo of Chef Rick Moonen staring at a man's rear as he pulled down his pants.
All in all a great evening about super green seafood and also how the world needs to eat more oysters (I am so down with that so Chef just txt me)
Got a lot of stuff left to do tonight so I'll call it a day and use this picture of plating as day 88.
If you want to see more photos from tonight, I'll be posting some on my tumblr in a few days with the rest showing up on Slow Food sometime in the near future.

Day Eighty Seven
If you want to make money then photography is not where it's at. You need to start selling printer ink on the black market.
Of course The Girl prints like there's no tomorrow. Wonder if I can just fill these up with some water like I do with the felt tip markers?

Day Eighty Four
遠くにいても待ち続ける あなたのキス届く日まで - Kanbeki Gu ~ No Ne : Watari Roka Hashiri Tai
It's almost Easter so what better way to celebrate than to dress Hello Kitty up like a blue Easter Bunny! Man after all those years I still have the "Thank you Easter Bunny" M&M commercial stuck in my head.
Thanks to those that have for the last few days. And if you haven't please take the time to help me get listed in Tumblr's photography directory by clicking this link.Find me here: Web | Blog | Getty | Flickr | Tumblr | Twitter

Day Eighty Three
I got a pocket full of rubbers and my homeboys do too. - Gin And Juice : Snoop Dogg
Call it habit or whatever but I've always had a jimmy on my lens. The only time I've never had one was when it was too big (rim shot). There were a number of times when a garage door would come crashing down, rough handling at the airports or it just jumping out of a bag where the filter would end up taken the beating, leaving the front element fine. Everyone has there beliefs if one is needed or not. For me, it's a non issue.
Plus the filter keeps all the bokeh from escaping.Find me here: Web | Blog | Getty | Flickr | Tumblr | Twitter

Day Seventy Seven
Did the BHG action today with photo work on making bagels. These were proofing, at least I think that's what they told me. As I was setting up, I was told not to be too long (taking the photos) as the bagels would dry out. Restrictions, no matter what the assignment, always restrictions.
Since these were in the dough stage (I'm not a chef regardless of what I have in my closet) I wanted to keep the photo very fresh and uplifting to capture the color and fluffiness of it.
LensAlign Pro

I’ve read about front/back focusing on a few of the photography forms I visit. Curiosity got the best of me that I decided to rent the LensAlign Pro calibration unit from BorrowLenses to see if my lenses needed some tweaking.
After reading some of the instructions and videos I decided to have a go. After setting up a tethered rig I continued to read the instructions to which I discovered that you really can’t adjust the lens for all types of shooting situations. You need to pick a shooting style you’ll most likely do with the lens (shooting distance) and calibrate for that.
So what you end up with is a lens that is spot on for only a given distance from the subject but if you change that distance, your alignment is no longer valid. WTH is right.
Now this isn’t a knock on LensAlign or any of the alignment tools out there. But just be sure you understand when you are calibrating a lens, you are calibrating it for a specific distance between you and your subject.
*I forgot to delete the micro adjustment setting for this lens prior to making the photo above. I shot it at a different distance than it’s calibration.

Day Seventy Six
My room is still messed up and I know why - Because I Got High : Afroman
After spending the better part of the evening aligning my lenses with the LensAlign system I rented from BorrowLenses I needed a break. But of course after my break I couldn't be bother with continuing with it.
Besides, I found out in my testing that even if you did fine tuned your lens, you've only fine tuned it for that given distance! Freak ya, you read me right. Change the distance and all bets are off! Your alignments are only good for that tested distance. Yep, that's it.
I reserved it for a week but honestly, I think I'ma send it back. I knew I should have just bought the Ec-S focusing screen instead.Follow me on Twitter: @joeyjoeyjoey

I finally did it!

I took the obligatory photographer’s self portrait! Told you I shoot with my left eye. Also something funny about the photo is that I’m actually not holding onto the focus ring with my left hand. I’m actually holding onto the little indent on the lens itself up against the lens mount. The focus ring is further forward and a lot larger than what my hands are showing.
I figured all the other portraits I’ve see were like this I guess I should do the same. But after looking at the photo a bit more it makes it seems like I’m a giant because I’m cupping my entire camera.
Huzzah!
Firmware 2.0.3 gives native 24p in Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Sometimes I wish I got the 5D Mark II instead of the 1D Mark III. Then I woke up. lolz.
Day Seventy Four
For no amount of dough. Franchise this man. - Won't Trade : Q-Tip
Did something different for today. I went outside and made photos of people doing there own thing. That's right no releases, no instructions. Just people.
More photos here and here.

Life at 85mm

Shooting with the 85mm for a few days now and I gotta say this focal length is off the chain. It allows me to get in tight without the distortion associated with foot zooming on the shorter lenses that I have.
If you’re in the market for a prime lens don’t be scurd of a mid focal length like the 85. Save the 24/35/50 for next time. Get the 85 first and fill/compress that frame. (That is, if that is how you like to shoot)
And yes, I’m surfing for p0rn.
