Sure you could buy a pro bodied Nikon/Canon + a crap load of lenses for the cost of a Leica M9 and NOCTILUX-M 50 mm ƒ/0.95 ASPH but that’s not the point. Until you use a Leica Rangefinder you will never know.

Yes, I do have a blog but I’m gonna keep that updated with the 365 I’m doing over at Flickr. But I do have other interest other than photography so I decided blow the dust off this Tumblr account and post stuff up here that isn’t part of my 365.

I was watching The Forgotten (hey Christian Slater is the lead) the other night and Superstar was used in one of the wide city scape shots and I was totally inspired by it (the song not the establishing shot).

As I was listening to the song today on lala, I had this picture of a shoe kicked up with a hand reaching back. I don't know why I thought that, I just did.

If you're wondering what's with the black & white kick lately. I dunno, just been feeling it lately or maybe because of my website.

If you've been following my stream for sometime now (pre 365) you'll know that I'm pretty fond of posting up lyrics for the descriptions of my photos. Reason is, each photo that has lyrics posted is inspired by that song. While I'm setting up the shot and during I'll have that song on repeat, even while in post that song is still playing.

I don't follow the works of famous photographers. If you told me one of their names I would give you a blank stare because I would have no idea who you're talking about.

My photography stems from my love of music. What I listen to, is what shapes my photos.

Chris thought it was funny that I actually like to have a mix of light colors in my photos instead of trying to get everything all normal like. I do like to mix different colored light temperatures as it's pretty neat to do.

So for today's photo I just kept the white balance on "sun" mode to get the orange out of the tungsten room lights. Then added a blue gelled and 2 non gelled flashes to the mix.

Both of the girls were really excited to see yesterday's completed photo, so much so it became The Girl's desktop wall paper.

Today they were bent in making more photos but this old man just wanted to stay home. So I said we could make another photo but we would just do it in the backyard. I asked Mouse Girl what kind of picture she wanted to make and she said, "Ate jump!". I looked at The Girl and she nodded in approval.

Sun was out today and both The Girl & Mouse Girl wanted to make some pictures out in the fresh air. The Girl said that she would be the model and Mouse Girl would be my helper. So we packed the car with photo gear and headed off.

The Girl came up with the posing on her own while Mouse Girl made sure we were running on schedule.

I was looking outside the kitchen window into the backyard while preparing dinner and thought that I would like to make a photo of myself sitting there. So while the food was cooking, I took my gear outside while the girls looked onwards through the screen door.

At first, I was holding a book but who was I kidding, I only read pictures. So I asked The Girl for her hackint0sh.

In other news Getty Images requested I send them some of my 365 photos (even my naked one) so if you enjoy my stream and want to support what I'm doing license some of my work.

So there was this funny discussion on twitter as to self portraits for 365s. I mean why not right? It's not like you're gonna say "No" because there's no MUA, an elaborate set or you don't do TFP? After all it's all about getting into the habit of using that camera and maybe you'll learn something new along the way.

I'm looking at the security guards that started to take an interest in what I was doing. Guess when you put up a light stand and softbox you really can't be all ninja like. This was the first time I didn't get the boot from security. Must be my lucky day.

Plus I hadn't bathed nor changed my clothes since Day Forty Seven (yep I slept in them as well, it's just that kind of week for me). Maybe I should go down to the casino and bet everything on Red "Let it ride!"

My day pretty much went like: read email, respond to email, upload photo and repeat. I'm actually not done but I needed to get a photo in for today.

So off I went down the street with one of The Girl's chairs. Now I'm back and it's more reading, replying and uploading of photos.

I use Aperture, so when Apple released their latest versions I decided to use this weekend to update. Sure you may be thinking, why not wait till the early adopters ring out the bugs but with a Time Machine backup reverting back to the earlier version is pretty painless.

While the install was quick, upgrading my library took a while and didn't finish till the next morning.

Things I like:
Switching libraries on the fly.
A more complete full screen work flow.
Import presets
Printing Presets

Things I'm still scratching my head over:
Flickering screen when using brushes in full screen work flow.
No tethering support for Canon 1D Mark III / Mark IV
Faces/Places
